By the end of 1992 and from the ashes of bands like “Liberacion” (the very first straight edge vegan mexican band) and from a lapse of Coprofilia (a libertarían but styless band) Desobediencia Civil was born.
Through the protest and actions against the celebration of the V century of the enslavement of America; the future member of Desobediencia Civil would edit “Solo Muertos nos Podran Callar” (Only Death they will shut us up) “Liberacion (Liberation) “Caminando hacia la Libertad” (Walking Towards Freedoom) fanzines and were active members of “Cambio Radical “and “Brigada Subversiva” Collectives. Eventually they decide to form a new group to difuse, support and express the Animal, Earth, Human Total Liberation.
Under the mutual support, self suffiency, D.I.Y. ethics and anarchist attitude mixed with an increasing rage against the establishment, several benefits, recordings, fanzines, collectives, actions, squats, posters, panphlets and compilations were done.
At the end of the 90´s, band members emigrated and there is a change of its members. Subsequently by 2002 they meet in the States and from that period to 2008 they keep playing and organizing activities to support prisoners, people, anarchists projects as well as revolutionarys groups in active struggle and resistance.
In 2016 they reemerge in Mexico playing at the “Evasion Fest” an event organized by anarchists to support fleeing comrades and imprisoned ones. Nowadays Desobediencia Civil is conformed by: Rubisel- Drums, Chomsky – Vocals and Bass, Poncho- Guitar, Laura-Vocals. We continue with the fanzines, antiestablishment alternative material, editing and distribution, through informative propaganda, actions, Documentaries, silkscreeaning, elaborating, eating and distributing vegan food, but first and foremost being happy to support and to aknowledge that the punk movement continues to be an element of diffusion and solidarity through projects like this one.
